Fishing

Better make sure your fishing line's test weight is sufficient! Excellent Bass, Northern, Crappie and Bluegill fishing here. You can also catch Catfish and Walleye below the dam.

Hunting

There is excellent pheasant and duck hunting around the lake. Be sure you have the land or property owner's permission before you hunt. Also, remember there is no hunting within 600 feet of any habitable structure unless you have the express permission of the land/property owner.

Boating

Remember, Lake Ericson is a NO-Wake lake and jet skis are not allowed. We offer a nice boat ramp for all types of boats and new one is on the way. You can also enjoy the afternoon by taking a relaxing journey down the Cedar River in your canoe. You can also "Get Tanked" - try going down the river on a picnic table in a plastic "tank". Its a Hoot!! Visit www.get-tanked.com for more info.

Camping

Ahhh... the joys of camping. Crackling fire, the sounds of crickets and frogs in the distance and the roasting of marshmallows. Our camping area has now been updated. Just south of the dam are 8 pads complete with water and electricity. There are several charcoal grills and fire rings in the area if you need one for your camp site. Please limit your stay to 14 days. See the Contact page for details on reservations.

Pictured above is the camping area.

Swimming

The lake has an excellent swimming area. With a sandy beach and shady sitting area, you will enjoy splashing in the water or reading your book as you watch the children play. The swimming area is marked off with floating buoys so be sure to stay inside them for safety.
