Fundraisers held on Labor Day weekend at Lake Ericson were well attended. On Saturday, September 3, over 60 people attended the Patio to Patio Party that was hosted by six cabin owners at the lake. Passport sales totaled $1,830, along with donations received of $295. Margaritaville, Husker Tailgate Party, Sweet Shoppe, Flamingo Fiesta, Beach Party, and Paradise Island all served food and beverages matching their themes, along with live music on the guitar and trumpet by Jerry Neeman and assisted by Brent Bengston, both of Ord.
Auctioneer Lin Gumb of Burwell donated his services for the annual Sunday afternoon Labor Day Auction. Proceeds were $3,391 from the seventy buyers registered. A Silent Auction, which is a new event, was also held along with t-shirt and dvd sales. A dollhouse which was made and donated by Violet Woitaszewski of Wood River brought a total of $500 on both the silent and live bidding, with total Silent Auction sales, concessions and toy shop sales bringing in over $700.
The weekend events generated over $6,000, one hundred per cent of which will go into the Lake Ericson Restoration Fund. Donations to the fund are being accepted at Ericson State Bank in Ericson and any Cornerstone Bank.
A Lake Ericson 2010 Flood DVD will be available for a $15.00 donation. It contains video footage and many photo's of that devastating day, June 13, 2010. It is being completed professionally by A Sound Impression, Lincoln, Ne with Cali Hlavac donating her labor. If you can not pick one up at the annual meeting or July 3rd BBQ, please call 712-744-4225 to order by mail or contact a board member.

Lake Ericson Annual Auction is Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at 1:00pm under the round picnic shelter. Bring your donated items early and we can store them until the auction or come and bid on a new found treasure the day of!
